![]() ![]() If you don't pass, you don't get in and you can't do your job. That means that you'll be searched likely with a cyberware scanner. People going to meets want to be safe and have the upper hand. Let the samurai and mercs handle that, it is what they are designed for.įaces shine during meets. That is not to say that you should not know combat, just that your combat options should revolve around getting out of the fight. Also if anyone has played a face before or know what is to be expected from one, feel free to give some advice on how I should be playing the face (like one of the other posts on this sub mentions being able to negotiate with Mr Johnson) I was hoping to use those to increase my body and strength a little more but no dice.Įither way it may look like I have a character but as you can see its a whole mess by someone who doesn't know what he is doing so some help and suggestions on what to take and why (so I can understand how I should be using it during the game) would be helpful. ![]() I have quite a bit of money, but not that much either so it doesn't look like I can buy a lot of the neat toys (like implants) which can help boost up my weaknesses. I also took Code of Honor, dependants and prejudiced to max out the karma gain.Īs a face I'm pretty sure contacts are important but I don't know which ones are (again just started out playing so I'm unfamiliar with the setting and system) Suggestions for these would also help. I also took magic resistance since I'm not using magic anyway. I'm not sure how useful they would be but they seemed facey enough. For the free languages and knowledges/interests I just took whatever the book recommended me to.įor qualities I took analytical mind, photographic memory and blandness. I'm not sure if a 2 in body is actually good for my longevity and I don't even know what willpower is for.įor skills I put 3 in acting and close combat (unarmed and other weapons? Yes please) and 2 in athletics (I always subscribed to being able to run when things go bad) and firearms although maybe I can scrap athletics and put in individual skills for firearms (the problem here is I don't know what weapons are common in SR) I also took negotiation (I read it is important for faces) etiquette (helped in my first game) and electronic warfare and computer among other things splashed around. Agility and reaction I took because it helps me hit more and get hit less (unless I'm mistaken about their function) and logic was for.I guess because I like Sherlock Holmes. ![]() Also I don't really know what each skills do individually although I know charisma is going to be important for a face. The problem for the above is I don't think I'll be doing much damage through fisticuffs with a 2 in strength. My inspiration for my face since I've watched Kingsman recently is Harry Hart (he can talk and fight!) Either way, I'm failing badly because of the image in my head and trying to do too much as well as because having only played 2 games so far (I don't know the numbers I should be aiming for)Ī: Skills (because I want to do many things) B: Stats (because it helps me do many things) C: Money, D: Race, E: Magic (don't want to get into magic) When I joined the game the party is lacked a face (which is why they asked me to roll one) and magic (something I'm not interested in) It also used to be lacking decking until recently. My current party if I remember right is a street samurai (many many attack dice), a decker who knows his stuff (hence me scrapping my plans for a decker-rigger) and.another guy whose specialty escapes me. ![]() The problem: I just can't seem to make a face for the game I'm in (I blame too much of the habit of wanting to minmax since I'm brought in from the d20 systems) This gives the problem of me trying to do everything (hail d&d rogues and bards!) Sadly our nova hot community isn't the best place to discuss the mechanics discussion or troubleshooting the video games. Mostly the pen and paper role playing game, but also the deck building card game, video games, and literature of Shadowrun. Discussion is primarily aimed at exploring narratives found in the Sixth World. Here at /r/Shadowrun we talk shop about all things in the shadows. ![]()
